Plymouth’s 1958 lineup wore Virgil Exner’s dramatic “Forward Look” styling, with soaring tailfins, quad headlights and a bold chrome grille. The Belvedere was the top regular model, offered with V8 power and two-tone paint. Its 1958 lines became famous worldwide through John Carpenter’s 1983 film Christine. The car in the story is a Fury, but many of the cars used in filming were actually Belvederes and Savoys dressed up as Furys. AMT’s kit builds the classic hardtop in red with a white roof, as shown on the box.
