Description

AIRA06015 - Airfix 1/72 North American B-25C/D Mitchell - WWHP113343

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

The Mitchell is forever tied to the Doolittle Raid, sixteen bombers flown off the deck of USS Hornet in April 1942 to strike Tokyo, an operation that did little material damage but a great deal for American morale. The C and D were the early glazed nose versions, before the field modifications and factory strafer noses turned later Mitchells into gun platforms. Nearly 10,000 were built and almost every Allied air arm flew them, including the RAF, the USN and the Soviet Air Force. The type was named for Billy Mitchell, and restored examples still fly the airshow circuit.

Airfix tooling with fine recessed detail throughout. Skill level 2, and the box quotes roughly two hours of build time.
