Description
AIRA04061 - Airfix - 1/72 Bristol Blenheim Mk.IV - WWHP113319
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
Ordered straight from the drawing board in 1935, the Bristol Type 142 that became the Blenheim was genuinely advanced for its day, a fast all-metal monoplane bomber that could outrun contemporary fighters. By 1939 fighter development had overtaken it, and Blenheim crews paid a heavy price flying daylight raids into defended airspace. The Mk.IV added the distinctive scalloped long nose, uprated Mercury engines, and extra fuel. It served on every major front, as a light bomber and a fighter, before being phased out in 1943 in favour of less vulnerable types. This Airfix 1/72 kit is based on the 2014 new tooling with Mk.IV parts, and covers a Free French aircraft in North Africa and an RAF Leuchars machine.
