Description
AIR1408-150 - Airfix 1/72 Heinkel He III H-20 - WWHP111602
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Heinkel He 111 was the Luftwaffe's primary medium bomber from the opening of the war through the Battle of Britain, where its limited defensive armament and relatively slow speed were exposed by RAF fighters. Later H-series variants were adapted for multiple secondary roles; the H-20 designation covered aircraft modified as pathfinders, paratroop transports, and — most distinctively — as air-launch platforms for the Fieseler Fi 103 (V1 flying bomb), carried under the port wing and released over the North Sea toward Britain in 1944–45. Airfix first tooled this He 111 kit in 1963; the 1408-150 is the US Craft Master distribution boxing, featuring a display stand. Note: the tooling represents an early stepped-nose He 111 rather than the fully-glazed H-series nose; a known limitation of this vintage mould.
