Designed by W.E.W. Petter, the Gnat entered RAF service in 1962 as the first fast jet trainee pilots flew before moving on to Hunters and Lightnings. It stayed in service until the Hawk replaced it in the late 1970s, and many passed to private operators who still display them today. Three schemes are included, among them the yellow Yellowjacks aerobatic team machine.
