Dassault built the Mirage F1 as a swept wing successor to the Mirage III, giving it better short field and low level performance. The F1C entered French service in 1973 as an interceptor and went on to serve with air forces across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

This is Airfix kit 04022, the Series 4 boxing of their 1/72 Mirage F.1C, tooled in 1978 and made in England. Light grey styrene with raised panel lines, a clear canopy bagged separately, and decals for a French EC 2/30 "Normandie-Niémen" aircraft at Reims and a South African Air Force 3 Squadron machine at Waterkloof.
