Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero ("Sparrowhawk") was a three-engine Italian medium bomber that first flew on 28 September 1934, starting out as a fast passenger transport and record-setter before the Regia Aeronautica turned it to war. Its distinctive dorsal hump earned the crew nickname "il gobbo maledetto" (the damned hunchback), and beneath the dated-looking exterior was a rugged, fast aircraft. It made its name as a torpedo bomber, with the Aerosiluranti squadrons pressing home wave-top attacks on British convoys in the Mediterranean, especially during the Malta supply battles. Around 1,240 were built, making it the most-produced Italian bomber of the war.
