Description
AIR03021-6 - Airfix 1/72 SA.330 Puma - WWHP111609
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Aérospatiale SA 330 Puma is a four-bladed, twin-turbine medium transport helicopter developed jointly by Sud Aviation and Westland under the Anglo-French helicopter agreement of 1967. The RAF adopted it as the Puma HC.1, entering service in 1971 with No. 33 and No. 230 Squadrons in the tactical transport and support role. The French Armée de l'Air operated the type extensively in parallel. The Puma later evolved into the Super Puma and Cougar families, remaining in production into the 21st century. This kit, tooled by Airfix in 1973, was notable for its detailed interior — full cockpit, cargo bay with troop seats and bulkheads, and opening side doors — making it one of the most complete 1/72 helicopter kits of its era.
