The M4A3 Sherman fitted with the 76mm M1A2 gun was the US Army's primary response to the heavier German armour encountered in Normandy and beyond, entering service in mid-1944 and equipping armoured divisions through to the end of the war in Europe. The Ford-engined M4A3 was the preferred Sherman variant for American units, and the 76mm-armed version saw action from the Siegfried Line through to the Elbe. Armourfast's 1/72 kit provides two complete M4A3 76mm tanks in a simplified snap-fit format aimed at wargamers and diorama builders.
