The Kamov Ka-29 (NATO reporting name "Helix-B") is a Soviet naval assault transport and fire-support helicopter developed by the Kamov bureau in the 1980s for the Soviet naval infantry. Based on the Ka-27 family, it uses Kamov's characteristic coaxial contra-rotating rotors and no tail rotor, and can carry an infantry squad along with externally mounted weapons such as rocket pods and gun armament. It operates from amphibious assault ships in support of marine landings.
