The Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental is the final passenger development of the 747 family, stretched to 76.3 metres and made the longest airliner in the world at the time of its introduction. It first flew in March 2011, following the 747-8 Freighter into the air a year earlier, and combines a new wing with GEnx turbofans borrowed from the 787 programme. Typical seating is around 467 passengers across three classes.
