The ZIS-151 was the Soviet Union's first mass-produced 6x6 general-purpose military truck, entering service in 1948 and forming the backbone of Red Army logistics through the early Cold War. It hauled troops and cargo and served as the platform for the BM-13 "Katyusha" rocket launcher and numerous specialist bodies before being succeeded by the ZIL-157. It is a foundational Soviet softskin subject.
