Description
UPMMC04-1500 - Union Plastic Model 1/25 Ford GT Mark II - WWHP113461
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Ford's GT programme began in 1963 after Henry Ford II's attempt to buy Ferrari collapsed, and the answer was to beat Maranello on the track instead. The Mark II swapped the original 4.2 litre V8 for the 7 litre 427, and in 1966 the type gave America its first Le Mans victory in the famous staged finish, with Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon taking the win in the black number 2 car. Ford went on to win Le Mans four years running, an achievement no American manufacturer has matched since.
Box contents
- 1/25 scale injection moulded plastic kit, Union Memorial Collections series
- Steerable front wheels and chrome plated suspension parts

- Waterslide decals covering race numbers 1, 2, 8 and 98, with Gulf and Ford GT40 markings and stripe options

This kit is tooled from American moulds around twenty years older than the boxing, and the manufacturer notes that flash and fit issues should be expected. Recommended for experienced modellers.
