TES411 - Testors 1/25 Those Famous Fords Ford Mark II - WWHP111904
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Ford GT40 Mark II was the car that finally broke Ferrari's stranglehold on Le Mans, taking a famous 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans after Ford's failed attempt to purchase Ferrari had driven Henry Ford II to fund a full factory racing programme. Powered by a 7.0-litre Ford big-block V8 producing over 485 horsepower, the Mk.II was developed with input from Carroll Shelby's team and driven by top American and international talent including Ken Miles, Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme, and Dan Gurney. The #2 black and white car depicted here was driven by Ken Miles and Denny Hulme, who finished second in a controversial photo-finish decision that denied Miles an outright victory.
