Preowned, Resealed, Mint

The Elephant began as the Ferdinand, a heavy tank destroyer built on 91 surplus Porsche Tiger chassis in 1943. It carried the long 8.8cm PaK 43/2 L/71 gun behind frontal armour up to 200mm thick, and it first saw action at Kursk, where its gun could knock out Soviet tanks at very long range. Early in 1944 the survivors were rebuilt with a hull machine gun, a commander's cupola and Zimmerit coating, and renamed Elefant. They fought on in Italy, including at Anzio, and on the Eastern Front until 1945.
