Douglas designed the Skyraider at the tail end of the Second World War and it arrived too late for that conflict, but the big piston attack aircraft went on to serve through Korea and Vietnam. Its ability to loiter over a target for hours with an enormous bomb load made it the aircraft of choice for close air support and Sandy rescue escort work.

This is Trumpeter kit 02253 in 1/32. Over 440 parts with finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and undercarriage bays, a full Wright R-3350 radial, and a large selection of underwing stores. Finished model is 369mm long with a 476.9mm span.
