The 8.8cm Flak 18 Selbstfahrlafette was a German self-propelled anti-aircraft and anti-tank platform mounting the famous 88mm Flak gun on a 12-tonne half-track chassis (Sd.Kfz. 8 / DB9). Fielded early in the Second World War, it gave the versatile 88 mobility and a degree of crew protection through folding armour plates, and saw action in the Polish, French, and early Eastern Front campaigns. Relatively few were built, making it a distinctive subject among German half-track variants.
