The Cougar was the fire-support variant of Canada's six-wheeled Armoured Vehicle General Purpose (AVGP) family, which entered service in 1976 alongside the Grizzly APC and Husky recovery vehicle. Based on the Swiss MOWAG Piranha and built in Canada, the Cougar mounted a 76mm gun turret and served with Regular and Reserve armoured units, including overseas deployments under UN command. This kit represents the early-production configuration.
