The Tiger Ausf. E entered service in autumn 1942 and its early production form is distinguished by the drum shaped commander's cupola, the rubber tyred road wheels, Feifel air cleaners and the forward mounted turret pistol ports. These first machines went to the heavy tank battalions forming in Tunisia and on the Eastern Front, where they fought at Kursk and through the 1943 defensive battles. This sheet covers ten of those vehicles.
