The Takom 6004 1/350 Flak Tower I “Berliner Zoo G Tower” is a highly detailed plastic model kit of one of the most imposing and controversial concrete fortifications of WWII. The Flak Towers were massive anti-aircraft bunkers built by Nazi Germany to defend major cities from Allied bombing raids, and the Berlin Zoo Tower (G-Tower) was one of the most famous, forming part of the paired Flak Tower complex in central Berlin near the Tiergarten.

Designed as both an air-defense platform and civilian air-raid shelter, the Zoo Flak Tower combined thick reinforced concrete walls, multiple heavy anti-aircraft gun platforms (including 12.8 cm FlaK guns), fire-control systems, and extensive underground facilities. It became a symbol of Berlin’s last-ditch air defense during the final years of the war, surviving extremely heavy bombardment and later becoming a major post-war demolition challenge.

Takom’s kit reproduces this enormous structure in 1/350 scale with impressive attention to architectural detail, capturing the layered gun platforms, blockhouse geometry, and heavy bunker textures. The model is essentially a diorama centerpiece on its own, representing industrial-scale wartime engineering in miniature form. The kit is also known for including photo-etched parts to enhance railings, ladders, and fine structural elements.
