Description
TKM2142 - Takom 1/35 M60A1 w/ERA & M9 Bulldozer
The Takom 2142 1/35 M60A1 with ERA & M9 Bulldozer is a detailed plastic model kit of the upgraded Cold War-era American main battle tank fitted with Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) and the M9 bulldozer blade system. Based on the M60A1 Patton, this version represents a late-service configuration used during the final decades of Cold War operations and into the Gulf War period, where older M60-series tanks were reinforced with additional protection and engineering capability.
The M60A1 itself evolved from the M48/M60 lineage and features a redesigned wedge-shaped turret, improved ballistic protection, and a 105mm M68 main gun. In this configuration, the addition of ERA tiles enhances survivability against shaped-charge threats, while the M9 bulldozer blade allows the vehicle to perform combat engineering tasks such as obstacle clearance, berm construction, and defensive earthworks.
Takom’s kit is well known for its sharp molding, highly detailed turret and hull surfaces, and accurate reproduction of the ERA and dozer blade assemblies. It typically includes link-and-length tracks, optional hatches, finely detailed suspension components, and photo-etched parts, making it a highly engaging build for modern armor enthusiasts and diorama creators.
