The Imperial Japanese Navy's carrier air groups of the Second World War fielded some of the most capable naval aircraft of the early war period. This set covers four principal IJN carrier types: the Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero fighter, the Aichi D3A Type 99 dive bomber, the Nakajima B5N Type 97 torpedo bomber, and the Kugisho D4Y2 Suisei dive bomber. All four types participated in the Pearl Harbor attack, and the Zero and Suisei remained in front-line carrier service through to the war's end.
