This kit replicates the Aichi M6A1-K Nanzan, the land-based trainer version of the M6A1 Seiran, the submarine-launched attack floatplane developed to strike targets such as the Panama Canal from the Imperial Japanese Navy's giant I-400 class submarines. The Nanzan replaced the Seiran's floats with conventional retractable landing gear for pilot training; only a small number were built. Tamiya tooled this 1/72 kit as part of its War Bird Collection.
