The Lexus SC430-based GT500 machine made its debut in the 2006 Super GT season, replacing Toyota's long-running Supra. Toyota Team Cerumo entered 2006 as defending champions — Toranosuke Takagi and Yuji Tachikawa having won the 2005 title in the Supra. The #1 Zent Cerumo SC430 took victory at Round 5 Sugo and a podium at Round 7 Motegi, finishing 5th in the 2006 standings. "New decals" rebox of the SC430 tooling, released 2007.
