TAM24259 - Tamiya 1/24 Subaru Impreza WRC 2002 - WWHP111537
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Impreza WRC 2002 was Subaru World Rally Team's third generation of the GD-body Impreza, debuting at the Tour de Corse — round three of the 2002 WRC season — for Tommi Mäkinen and Petter Solberg. Running the EJ20 horizontally-opposed turbocharged four-cylinder with a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox and electronically-controlled throttle, the 2002 car featured exhaust manifold revisions for improved mid-range torque, reinforced drivetrain components, and weight-saving measures including a thinned rear windscreen. Solberg went on to finish second in the 2002 drivers' championship; Mäkinen retired from the sport at season's end. This is a "new parts" rebox of Tamiya's WRC 2001 tooling, issued in 2002 specifically for the Tour de Corse debut of the 2002-specification car.
