The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR was developed in just 128 days to contest the inaugural 1997 FIA GT Championship. AMG-Mercedes dominated the season, claiming both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles with Bernd Schneider winning the drivers' crown. Team CLK Sportswear ran a third works entry — car #12 in the distinctive Warsteiner-sponsored livery featuring figure artwork on the bodywork — driven by veteran sportscar drivers Klaus Ludwig and Bernd Mayländer. "New decals" rebox of the original CLK-GTR tooling (24195), released 1998. Sports Car Series No. 201.
