Honda entered four NSXs in the 1998 All Japan GT Championship (JGTC), substantially revised from the 1997 cars. The 1998 machine featured a modified front wing, body side fins, a larger multi-element rear wing, lower engine mounting, and extensive carbon fibre bodywork. Managed by former F1 driver Satoru Nakajima, the Mobil 1 PIAA #64 NSX took 2nd place at Round 1 Suzuka and pole at Round 2 Fuji — notable results for a naturally-aspirated car against turbocharged competition. "New parts" rebox of Tamiya's NSX tooling, released 1998. Sports Car Series No. 198.
