The McLaren MP4/13 was Adrian Newey's masterpiece for the 1998 season, the first year of grooved tyres and narrow track regulations. Powered by the Mercedes FO110G 3-litre V10, Häkkinen and Coulthard dominated the year with a 1-2 at the opening round in Australia and went on to claim both the Drivers' and Constructors' championships. Häkkinen won the Japanese GP at Suzuka to seal his title. "New parts" rebox of the original MP4/13 tooling (20046), issued 2000 with Japanese GP specification detail. Kit No. 47 in Tamiya's 1/20 Grand Prix Collection.
