This kit replicates the General Motors FM-2 Wildcat, the final and most numerous Wildcat variant, built by GM's Eastern Aircraft Division. The FM-2 paired a lighter airframe with the more powerful Wright R-1820 engine and a taller tail, optimised for operation from small escort carriers; it served with both the US Navy and the Fleet Air Arm late in the Second World War. This is a Sword short-run kit produced in the Czech Republic, with markings for US Navy and Royal Navy aircraft.
