The Fairey Barracuda was the Fleet Air Arm’s first monoplane torpedo and dive bomber, a Merlin-powered, high-winged design with distinctive Fairey-Youngman flaps. Barracudas flew from Royal Navy carriers in the famous 1944 Operation Tungsten strikes against the battleship Tirpitz. Special Hobby’s Hi-tech version pairs the plastic kit with resin detail parts and an injected canopy, with four Royal Navy marking options.
