The Boeing 720 began life as a lighter, shorter-bodied derivative of the 707, tailored for medium-range routes and the shorter runways the full-size jet couldn't comfortably use. United Airlines launched the type into service in 1960, marketing it as the "720 Jet Mainliner," and 154 examples of the 720 and 720B were built before production ended in 1967. Roden's 1/144 kit captures N7205U in United's classic early-1960s bare metal and white scheme.
