The Mercedes-Benz 1628S was a workhorse of the New Generation range, the cab over tractor units that hauled freight across Europe through the 1970s and 80s. The 1628 designation covers a 16 tonne rated tractor with a 280hp V8 diesel, and the flat fronted cab became one of the most familiar shapes on the autobahn.

This is Revell kit 7409 from the Trucks of the World series, first released in 1982. Moulded in red and black with a full chassis, engine, tilting cab, detailed interior, chrome parts, and rubber tires. Decals cover the German registration and cab striping.
