The 1958 model year brought Chevrolet's full-size line two big firsts: dual headlamps and the new, larger 348 cu. in. V8. It also introduced the Impala name on a new top-of-the-line model, a nameplate that would stay with Chevrolet for decades. With its long, low body and one-year-only styling, the '58 Impala became a favourite in the lowrider scene and is still one of its most recognisable cars.
