Ford of Britain built the E04A Anglia from 1939 as a small, affordable family car, and it stayed in production in updated E494A form until 1953. Light, short and with a tall, upright body, it caught the eye of American drag racers in the 1960s, who stuffed big V8s under its hood and turned it into one of the classic gassers. That lean-forward, nose-high stance has made the Anglia a street rod favourite ever since.
