Description
RAG05404 - Revell - 1/110 H.M.S. Bounty (Discontinued) - WWHP113547
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Bounty began as the collier Bethia, bought by the Royal Navy in 1787 and converted for a single purpose: carrying breadfruit saplings from Tahiti to the West Indies under Lieutenant William Bligh. The mutiny of 28 April 1789 put Bligh and eighteen loyal men into an open launch for an extraordinary 6,700 km passage to Timor, while Fletcher Christian and the remaining crew settled on Pitcairn and burned the ship in 1790. Revell has had this subject in the catalogue since the 1950s, reboxed here with artwork by Olaf Rahardt.
