McDonnell built the Voodoo as a long range escort fighter, but its real career came as an all weather interceptor, sitting alert with Air Defense Command and later the Air National Guard with Falcon and Genie missiles on a rotating belly pallet. Canadian modellers know it better as the CF-101, which served the RCAF and Canadian Forces from 1961 until 1984, and this kit is the usual starting point for a Canadian Voodoo with aftermarket decals.

The tooling is a Monogram design pantographed down from the 1/48 kit and first issued in 1991, so it carries recessed panel lines and the same optional positions as its larger sibling. Skill level 3.
