The Seafire Mk.XV was the first Griffon-engined carrier-based variant of the Seafire family, combining a strengthened Seafire III airframe with the single-stage Griffon VI engine producing 1,850hp and driving a Rotol propeller. Designed to Specification N.4/43 and entering service in late 1944, 390 were built by Cunliffe-Owen and Westland. The Mk.XV arrived too late to see significant wartime carrier service but equipped numerous Fleet Air Arm squadrons in the immediate postwar period, serving aboard carriers including HMS Glory and HMS Implacable during the British Pacific Fleet's postwar operations.

Note: Kit 04835 is Revell AG's 2013 new-decals rebox of the Special Hobby Seafire F Mk.XV tooling (manufactured in Czech Republic).
