Revell 1/72 F-4F Phantom II "Anniversary", kit number 04685.
Jagdgeschwader 71 was stood up in 1959 as the first fighter wing of the postwar Luftwaffe and took the name Richthofen, along with the red triplane that has appeared on its aircraft ever since. For the wing's 50th anniversary in 2009 the ground crews at Wittmund turned out F-4F 37+03 in a black and bare metal scheme with Manfred von Richthofen's name on the nose and the triplane large on the fin. It is one of the best remembered German Phantom specials, and the Luftwaffe retired the type entirely four years later.
Revell added an F-4F specific front fuselage to this tooling, and the boxing includes a full weapons fit and a super decal sheet for the anniversary aircraft. Skill level 3.
