The 1966 Batmobile was not designed so much as improvised. Ford had a one off concept car sitting unused, the 1955 Lincoln Futura, and when the Batman television series needed a hero car in a hurry, George Barris reworked it into the Batmobile in about three weeks. The bubble canopies, the rocket tube, the scalloped fins and the red pinstriping all came out of that scramble, and the result is arguably the most recognizable television car ever built. Polar Lights offers it as a 1/25 snap kit, so it goes together without glue and comes with Batman and Robin to put in the seats.
