The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A was Germany's premier radial-engine fighter, introduced in late 1941 and a shock to RAF pilots who first encountered it over the Channel Front. The A-8 was the most-produced sub-variant, powered by the BMW 801D-2 14-cylinder radial producing 1,700 hp, with upgraded armament of four 20mm cannon and two 13mm machine guns. It served across all fronts from 1944 onward in interceptor, ground-attack, and escort roles. Original new tool from Otaki, 1976; OT2-26-600 is the 1985 boxing.
