OTAOT2-15-600 - Otaki 1/48 Kawasaki Ki 100 Tony - WWWEB10114377
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Kawasaki Ki-100 was one of the most successful improvisations of the Second World War — a radial engine transplant into the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien ("Tony") airframe, created in late 1944 when Kawasaki's liquid-cooled engines became unavailable. The result was a nimble, high-altitude fighter capable of intercepting B-29s and matching Allied escort fighters. Officially designated the Type 5 Fighter (Goshikisen), the Ki-100 entered service in early 1945 and remained competitive until the end of the war. Original new tool from Otaki, 1974; OT2-15-600 is the 1985 boxing.
