The La-9 was a post-war Soviet fighter of all-metal construction with a laminar-flow wing, armed with four cannons — a significant advance over the wooden La-7 it succeeded. The La-11 was a long-range escort derivative with increased fuel capacity, reduced to three cannons, and fitted for extended flight endurance. Both served in Soviet, Chinese, North Korean, and other air forces; La-11s saw combat over Korea intercepting USAF reconnaissance aircraft.

Kit 72004 is MPM's 1994 short-run injection kit covering both variants via alternate parts. Single sprue in dark brown plastic with finely engraved panel lines; vacuformed canopy.
