Work on a four engine Arado Ar 234 began in the summer of 1943 as a replacement for the twin engine B series, pairing four BMW 003 turbojets in twin nacelles under each wing. The C had less thrust per engine than the Jumo 004s it replaced, but the lighter, smaller units suited the airframe, and the type was almost certainly the fastest production jet of the war. Two versions reached production, the C-3 bomber and the C-4 reconnaissance aircraft with two cameras in the rear fuselage, but only about nineteen C-3s and a handful of C-4s were completed before the end. This kit uses the Hasegawa tooling.
