For years hot rodding was synonymous with the 1940 Ford, but by the 1980s street rodders had discovered the late-1930s Chevrolets, Pontiacs and Plymouths, and the rounded 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Coupe became a favourite canvas. Monogram's 1985 kit depicts one built in classic street rod style, keeping the original body lines while adding Center Line wheels, Goodyear street radials, custom seats and a massive 7-litre ZL-1 427 Chevy "rat motor" topped with a 6-71 GMC blower and dual carbs.
