The Ausf. G was the final and by far the most numerous version of the Sturmgeschütz III, built on the Panzer III chassis with the long 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 mounted in a fixed casemate superstructure. Most were produced at the Altmärkische Kettenwerk (Alkett) plant near Berlin, and MiniArt has tooled this release to a specific March 1943 production standard rather than a generic Ausf. G. Crewed by artillerymen and organised into Sturmgeschütz-Abteilungen, the StuG III served on every German front and accounted for a very large share of Wehrmacht armoured kills.
