Description

MENTS029 - Meng - 1/35 British Heavy Tank Mk.V Female

The Mk.V was the last mass-produced tank of the Mark series and the first that a single driver could actually steer, thanks to its epicyclic gearbox. The Female variant carried six Hotchkiss machine guns instead of the sponson six-pounders, working alongside the Male tanks to deal with enemy infantry. They first went into action at Hamel in 1918 and were central to the Battle of Amiens that August, the attack that opened the Hundred Days and in which the Canadian and Australian Corps led the assault.

  • Riveted rhomboid hull with accurate surface texture throughout
  • Cement-free snap-fit workable tracks
  • Sponsons can be built in either combat or transport position
  • Two types of trench crossing device included
  • Photo-etch fret and metal rod included
  • Three marking options: 1st Battalion Tank Corps A6 (1918), 10th Battalion Tank Corps J19 (Amiens, August 1918) and a captured vehicle in Berlin, 1945
  • Paint and cement required, sold separately

Workable tracks on a rhomboid hull means you can drape and sag them properly over the track frames, which is most of the battle on a Great War subject. Plan your weathering before assembly, because the underside of the upper track run becomes almost impossible to reach later.
