MENTS-008 - Meng 1/35 French FT-17 Light Tank - WWHP111434
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Renault FT-17 is widely regarded as the first truly modern tank, introducing the configuration that has defined armoured vehicle design ever since: rotating turret, rear engine, forward crew compartment. Conceived by Colonel Estienne and manufactured by Renault from 1917, it played a decisive role in the final Allied offensives of WWI. Over 4,100 were built in France alone and supplied to 27 countries; many remained in frontline or reserve service well into WWII. Germany captured 1,702 FT-17s in 1940, designating them Panzerkampfwagen 17R/18R (Sd.Kfz.730(f)) and using them for airfield defence and occupation duties. Finland fielded a small number as dug-in strongpoints during the 1939–40 Winter War.
Measured directly from a surviving vehicle. All-new Meng tooling, 2013. 404 plastic parts across 10 sprues.
