The Heinkel He 70 Blitz first flew in December 1932 as a fast mail and passenger aircraft for Lufthansa, and its sleek elliptical wing and flush-riveted skin let it set a string of speed records in 1933. It later served as a reconnaissance and light bomber with the Legion Condor and Spanish Nationalist forces, while the Royal Hungarian Air Force flew the radial-engined He 170A export version. Matchbox's late 1980s kit covers all three variants in its signature multi-colour moulding.
