Description
MATPK-101 - Matchbox 1/72 A-7D Corsair II - WWHP111719
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The A-7D was the US Air Force's land-based version of the Navy's Corsair II attack jet, swapping to the Allison TF41 (a licensed Rolls-Royce Spey) and adding an internal M61 cannon. Rushed to Southeast Asia in 1972, it flew strike and Sandy rescue-escort missions in the war's final year and went on to long Air National Guard service.
This is the original 1973 Matchbox tooling from the PK range's launch year, made in England by Lesney, in the window box with the signature multi-colour "3 Colour Kit" plastic visible through the panel.
Box contents:
- Parts molded in three colours of plastic with clear canopy
- Full underwing and fuselage stores load as depicted in the box art
- Waterslide decals with two USAF options: 356th TFS "Green Demons," 354th TFW, Myrtle Beach 1972, and 357th TFS "Licking Dragons," 355th TFW, Davis-Monthan AFB
- Instruction leaflet with full Colour Plan and simplified Mini-Paint plan
