The 8.8cm Flak 18 was the original production version of Germany's famous 88mm anti-aircraft gun, entering service in the early 1930s and seeing its first combat use in the Spanish Civil War. Equally effective against aircraft and armoured vehicles, the Flak 18 on its cruciform firing platform became one of the most versatile and feared weapons of the Second World War, serving in both the anti-aircraft and anti-tank roles across all theatres. Hasegawa's 1/72 Armor Series kit of the Flak 18 includes the gun with cruciform platform and a crew of German Army figures, distributed in North America by Minicraft.
